Mega Bytes day 10th December 2004
Mega Bytes was Inaugurated by Dr. H. Shantaram, Administrative Officer, Academy of General Education, Manipal at 9:00 a.m. on that day. Mr. Alan D'Souza, Director, White Hat Networks N.I.T.K., STEP, Surathkal was the chief guest. Principal of our college Prof. M.L. Samaga presided over the function. P.U. Principal Prof. Padmavathi Badkillaya, Prof. M. Vishwanath Pai, H.O.D. of computer science and convener of Mega Bytes, Prof Vinayak Mantoor, Staff Advisor of IT club, Mr. Venkatesh Secretary of IT club, Mr. Milan Rao co-ordinator Mega bytes were present on the dais.
Over 108 participants from 18 different colleges participated in the fest. Thus it was considered as one of the most successful event.
In the evening Prof. Dr. K. Chandrashekharan, Prof. and HOD Computer Engineering, NITK, Surathkal was the chief guest. Mr. K.K.Pai, Registrar, Academy of General Education presided over the function.
An essay competition was held earlier on the eve of Mega Bytes for the High School Students of Udupi Taluk in Kannada and English on the topic " Usage of IT in Daily Life". Thirty five entries were received. The list of winners are given below.
The four rank holders of the stream B.Sc. Computer Science and PGDCA were felicitated.
Cultural programs followed the valedictory function.
