TOPOGRAPHY                    

 
The MGM College is spread over an area of 46 acres. This also includes the sports ground which covers an area of 10 acres and a 4 acres 55 cents area for the ladies hostel named "Vadiraja Vidhyarthini Nilaya". There are a total of 7 blocks in the college campus.
"Madhava Raksha " the administrative block was inaugurated by Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi ( Minister for Human Resource and Development ) on 30th April ,1998. The Principal's chamber, Vice principal's chamber, Estate manager's room, Conference hall, Administrative office, NSS office, Student counsellor's office, Faculty room and Cooperative society are all located in this block. 
The "Madhava Pai Vijnyana Mandir" was inaugurated by  H A B Parpia in 1961.It has 2 wings - the Home science wing and the Chemistry wing.The Old Administrative Block has two wings - The "Anantha Baliga Memorial Hall" and the "Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall". The Karnataka Open University office is situated in this block. The HRD (Human Resource Development ) cell is also located here.The "Vikramashila" was inaugurated by Sri. A R Badarinarayana ( the then Mysore State Education Minister ). 
The "Computer Centre" was inaugurated by Sri. T Ramesh U Pai. It has a computer laboratory. The audio visual hall named "Studio 100" is also situated here which can accommodate upto 100 people .
"Parvathi Nilaya" ( the ladies retiring room ) was inaugurated in 1975. The "Annapoorna" (canteen) was inaugurated by Dr. M I Savadati (Vice-chancellor, Mangalore university) on 23rd March, 1990. The "Gitanjali" (house of culture) acts as a conference hall for the RRC. The "Nuthana Ravindra Mantapa" was inaugurated by Sri. Damu Javeri on 4th February, 1992. This auditorium can accommodate more than 500 people .
"Nalanda" was inaugurated by Sri K Sooryanarayana Adiga ( Dir. of Karnataka Bank Ltd. ) on 14th August, 1980. A full fledged bank and not an extension as in many other colleges operates in the ground floor of Nalanda. The RRC is also located here. 
The "Rashtrakavi Govind Pai Samshodhana Kendra" was inaugurated by Sri D V Arasu (Vice Chancellor, Mysore University) in 1976. The college also had a Men's hostel named "Sharada Nilaya". 
The college has 2 open air theatres -"Vidyanagari Open Air Theatre" and "Muddana Mantapa". There are altogether 56 classrooms in MGM College. The college also has museums and gardens spread over an area of 1 acre.
A new library, information science and sports complex constructed. The  library is projected to have a collection of 2 lakh books. The reading rooms can accommodate 250 boys and girls each.    
 
           

FACILITIES 

ANNAPOORNA (Mid-day Meals Club)

Another area where the college has come to the help of students is in providing healthy mid-day meals for the day scholars in the canteen. The new building Annapoorna presents today a delightful scene at noon when more than 400 students and teachers take advantage of  the subsidized board.
Annapoorna is now equipped with LPG Gas connection ,refrigerator, grinders etc. This facility available in the campus makes the task of organizing whole day functions  like seminars and workshops less cumbersome. Prof. Dr. P.N. Narashimhamoorthy , Principal of the College (1997-1998) initiated a programme of instituting a fund the annual returns of which should be utilized to provide lunch to poor deserving students free of cost or at a concessional rate.

THE  MGM  STUDENTS`  CO-OPERATIVE  STORE

The store was registered in June 1952 as a Co-operative Society and all the students of the college are its Associative Members or Shareholders. The store supplies all the text books and stationery articles required by the students. Students are requested to buy in their own interest their requirements from the Store. The profits of the Store are distributed as Scholarships to needy students.

HOSTEL

Hostel facilities are provided for students coming from far off places . "SRI VADIRAJA VIDHYARTHINI NILAYA " is a Ladies Hostel. It was built in 1970. Vadiraja Vidhyarthini Nilaya  is provided with excellent facilities like an auditorium, Priyadarshini Hall  added in 1973. The ladies hostel has earned a name for discipline and self rule and  living  in MGM Ladies Hostel is almost as accreditation for girls in the matrimonial world.  

EMPLOYMENT  INFORMATION  BUREAU

Employment Information Bureau was started mainly for career guidance. It assists the students in the all-important choice of a future career. In the capable hands of the Career Guidance Counselor and the Principal , the Bureau has helped to orient students, offer them information about diverse lines of Academic specialization and job opportunities. The Bureau has a steady flow in its pipe-line of informational talks , interview -demonstrations , panel discussion , regular bulletin and guest lectures  by experts. The Bureau is in its infancy but its dedicated service augurs well for the future.
 

GURUKULA (STAFF QUARTERS)

The college provides quarters facilities for the teaching and the non-teaching staff.  There are 34 staff quarters in the college campus.
